Haiti Art Expo is a component of this giant Art exhibition and a favorite among the Art connoisseurs and the sophisticated audience and people from around the world who invade Miami every year for this 4-day event. The event was sponsored by Marquis Vodka who had an open bar for all attendees to sample the new vodka and the host Michael Capponi assured the crowd that 100% of the proceeds from the event would go directly to 3 charities benefiting Haiti: The Haiti empowerment Mission, Hand in Hand for Haiti and Hard Hats for Haiti. The 4 day event showcased the works of Master artist Philippe Dodard, Lousiane St Fleurant, Levoy Exil, Payas, Alix Roy and Manuel Mathieu. This year, the artist most honored at Haiti Art expo 2011 was Mr. Philippe Dodard whose exhibit at Art Basel was simply genius and divine according to those of us privileged enough to witness his masterpieces in person.  Mr. Dodard’s Art work was the inspiration for Clothing Designer Donna Karan’s DKNY entire Fall collection this year. At the end of opening night, the crowd was treated to a “Rara” performance where we danced the night away following the band throughout the museum.
